WHAT TO DO BEFORE APPLYING FOR A STUDENT VISA

Once you have established your online registration or pre-registration at the chosen academic institution or equivalent instructional establishment, you will then need to request an in-person interview with Campus France by writing to: .
An appointment must be taken one month in advance and at least 15 days before the planned departure date.

This request must include your exact name and surname; the highest level diploma or certificate which you currently hold; your contact details (telephone, email, and postal address) and provide copies -where possible- of your correspondence with the specific relevant institution(s), indicating their contact details as well.

A detailed account of the results of your interview with the Campus France representative – on academic aspects- will be transmitted to the Consular section of the French Embassy through the Cultural service ; you will receive a certificate indicating the date on which this interview was conducted to allow you to follow through with the “VFS” STUDENT VISA procedures. “VFS” is the centralized visa service agency in Colombo which processes all such requests on behalf of the French Consulate in Sri Lanka.
